Michèle Shah has been working in Italy for over 30 years as a marketing consultant, journalist and wine critic, specializing in the promotion of Italian wines in export markets.
She began her journalistic career as a freelancer for Wine Spectator and Decanter. Foreign correspondent for Meininger’s Wine Business International (trade), Sommelier India (Indian market) Czas Wina (Polish market), Travel Curious Often (U.S. market) as well as author of Wines of Italy and contributor to Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Wine Guide and Gli Spumanti d’Italia (Veronelli Editore).
A consultant for the promotion of the marketing of Italian wine since 2002, she has been in charge of organizing international events with tastings, seminars and masterclasses held during trade shows, such as Vinitaly, Vinexpo and Grandi Langhe, with the aim of presenting Italian wines and their respective production regions to wine importers and international buyers.
For more than 15 years, she has been organizing wine tastings, seminars, B2B workshops (Speedtasting® – Customized Brand for B2B events between wine producers and international importers) as well as themed seminars for international press and international wine buyers on Italian wine and its regions of production tailor made for regional Italian consortia. She also collaborates with a team of consultants engaged in developing programs to promote the export of Italian wines and organizes promotional events for international markets directed at opening new channels for exports of Italian wines.
